The mission of Pacific Shellfish Institute (PSI) is to foster sustainable shellfish resources and a healthy marine environment through research and education.  We conduct research and offer assistance in various aspects of shellfish culture, marine environmental studies, and water quality control and education. Our strategic 2015 goals outline priority research projects. Most of our activities focus on publicly-funded research projects to evaluate the ecology, health and diseases of shellfish, including oysters, mussels and clams, on the U.S. west coast.
