To make a link directly to an abstract, the syntax of the URL is as follows:
http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/publications/search_abstract.php?fmContributionNum=1895
where the number at the end is the contribution number of the publication whose abstract you wish to display. This URL is the same as if you had clicked on the title of any citation in a normal publication search.
