Re: Changing graticule and land thicknesses
Alice,
The solution for land is relatively easy, it's not so easy for
graticule.
The solution for land is to define a new color and assign it to an
unused pen (unused in the current plot that is). For example:
yes? shade temp
yes? ppl color 6,60,60,60 ! light gray for pen 6
yes? go land 6
Graticule on the other hand uses the pplus command tics to set the length of
the major tic marks to extend across the entire plot, and thus it uses pen 0 to
draw it. You COULD redefine the color for pen 0 to light gray, but then all the
axis and labels will be drawn with this lighter color.
The only way around this would be to create a new command file that explicitely
draws the graticule (i did this once, and using aline and repeat it was
relatively easy), then you could use pen 6 again.
The other way is of course to use a darker line (pen 7 for example) for your
contour lines and thus you could make the contours darker and leave the land
and graticule lines alone, and get a similar effect.
