How to keep quality...

Hi!

I've produced some plots, stored them in *plt format and kept
 the *jnl files also.
I used gksm2ps to plot them on a black and white laser and
the result is just fine. Now I'm facing the problem
 that I cannot keep the same quality for the color versions. Since
 I do not have a postscript color printer, I tried to do the same
graphs and output them using  frame/file=*.gif but the result is
 of much lower quality.

Is there a way to overcome this ?
