1) CD-ROMs 2) Dates on stereo plots

Dear ferreting community:

1) Can Ferret read data directly from a CD-ROM? (I've tried it in the
straightforward way, but the instruction 'use data_file' always produces
the message 'data_file not existent or not on line' even though the CD is 
correctly mounted) 

2) Is there a way to make ferret automatically print the date on a
stereographic plot as it does for regular plots? This would be useful when
making several plots with 'repeat', so that you can see the time ticking
away in animations.
