Ansley,I'm a happy ferreter since the beginning of the 90's, as are a lot of people of IPSL, my institute. Ferret was introduced at IPSL by Patrick Brockmann, who developed nice additional packages for the IPSL model (FAST and ATLAS). In nearly 30 years, I really appreciated the role of the Ferret team. First, they alway answer our question fast and in a relevant manner. Second, the evolution of Ferret throughout these years really take into account all our remarks and need. We will remember you as a pillar of this team. We wish you a very happy retirement.OlivierLe 14 août 2019 à 20:25, Ansley C. Manke <ansley.b.manke@xxxxxxxx> a écrit :Friends,
I'm writing to let you know that I will be retiring from Federal service as of August 31. Of course, PyFerret/Ferret support will continue, with the community's help. After a break in September I will continue in a half-time appointment here for the next year to assist in the transition, and the group will be hiring a new person to support the software and bring in new skills and ideas.
This community has a great deal of knowledge and I hope you will continue your participation in the Users Group, pointing newer users to resources and helping out with questions where you can. We also ask you to think about folks you know who are good developers and might be interested in this new position. If you do have ideas, please get back to us at the oar.pmel.contact_ferret@xxxxxxxx email address and we'll pass along more information. The person need not know Ferret, but must have strong programming skills.
All the best and Happy Ferreting!
Ansley
