Re: [ferret_users] variable with period not recognized

All,
At the risk of over-doing this thread, yet another solution is to rename the variable.  Again, with the variable name within the single quotes matching the case in the file,

yes? use "paks/data/output/FDalad.2010122040.nc"
yes? set var/name=alad_2010122040 'alad.2010122040'

This changes only the variable name; everything else about the variable and the dataset remain the same. From now on, use the name alad_2010122040.

Hi,

If I was you, I would also try:

fill  'ALAD.2010122040'

Hello Users,

Does anybody know why Ferret is acting as if there was no variable in my file, even though it says so. Also, the error message appears twice.
I attach the actual file.

Thanks, Peter
