Re: [ferret_users] mass conservative regridding
Hi Feng,
| If any ferret user has experience to re-grid mass-conservative property
| such as emission by FERRET , it is highly appreciated if you can share
| that with me.
My experience is limited to very simple cases.
If you use the "@AVE" regridding of Ferret as described in
http://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/Ferret/documentation/users-guide/Grids-Regions/GRIDS#_VPINDEXENTRY_660
"transport" is conserved. Here transport = flux * boxwidth
for a 1D regridding, or transport = flux * area for a 2D regridding.
A caveat is that Ferret has to know the edges of the gridcells to
do it correctly, if your gridpoints aren't evenly spaced.
Does this suit your needs?
Regards,
Ryo
