[ferret_users] defining variable in ferret

Dear Users,
         I have been using a variable defined for the palette selection in previous version 6.0 and 5.81 of ferret as below listed way. But the latest version i.e. ferret version 6.1 gives me a segmentation fault and break of the code. Can you please suggest is there any alternate way made in latest version or this is a bug?
