Resolution of GIFs
Dear Ferreters,
on a DEC Alpha with 24bit X-server FERRET is not able to produce GIFs
with the frame command, the files are corrupt. A workaround is to start
by "ferret -gif".
On the other hand the GIFs produced without doing anything have a very
bad resolution (e.g. 768x662 pixel). The workaround here is to resize
the graphic window to a larger size ("set window/size=2" would result in
1141x984).
Unfortunately it is not possible to combine both workarounds. Using the
resize command in the gif mode does not change anything. Is it
impossbile to produce GIFs with a reasonable on a 24bit display? Any
other ideas on getting a better resolution of GIFs?
Or: How do you produce GIFs with a reasonable resolution (e.g. for
talks) in FERRET. B.t.w., it has to be GIF format because presentation
programs are not able to display EPS correctly in an online presentation.
Thanks for any suggestions.
