Welcome! I am a mathematical analyst working for the Oregon State University / Cooperative Institute for Marine Resources Studies (CIMRS) with the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ( NOAA) EOI Program. The location of the NOAA/EOI Program is at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, Oregon.
My primary responsibilities are problem solving, developing and implementing mathematical or statistical algorithms for oceanographic research. The programming languages that I use are IDL, C and in the old days FORTRAN. Now I also use JavaScript (example), perl & other UNIX shell script languages to do system programming such as CGI. My current and past projects are T-Phase ( including Noise Levels, Beamforming, Error Analysis ), Data Decoding, Web Programming, and Sidescan. More about my works and background are shown in the summary of my experiences page including publications.
