Dear ferret users, Attached is a 3 panel plot to show the problems I have with tics and fill. In the top panel, I used ppl tics .0,-.15,.0,-.15 to make tics go inward. Notice the lower left corner that labels "30S" and "0" are too close. This problem is better seen when I used ppl tics .0,-.35,.0,-.35 in the middle panel. So, how can I separate the locations of labels with the tics length? In the bottom panel, I used "fill" in stead of "shade", and all the tics are GONE (covered by "fill"). How can I use "fill" and keep the inward tics at the same time? Thanks for your attention. Zuojun Yu
